Bullfrog Spas: Benefits and Models Compared
When searching for Bullfrog spas, you might have questions around what the different models mean and how they can support relaxation. As a premium hot tub brand, these spas combine comfort and customisation to create an improved relaxation experience.
One of the main benefits of Bullfrog spas is the option of interchangeable JetPaks which can be moved between seats depending on the type of massage you want. This means you can change your experience to target different areas of the body (such as your lower or upper back). No other Hot Tub Brand offers this level of customisation with over 16 different JetPaks available for each spa. Bathers of all heights and sizes can enjoy each hydrotherapy JetPak as they can be placed within deep chairs, shallow chairs and the loungers.
This is just one benefit of Bullfrog spas but we’ll be covering more further in this guide, as well as:
- The different Bullfrog spa models
- What each of the models offer and specifications
- Who each Bullfrog spa is best suited to
- The cost of Bullfrog spas
- Any frequently asked questions
This means you can make an informed purchase, so you know what you’re getting from the outset. Also, if you would like to see the Bullfrog spas in person and take a closer look at the features and different models available, you can visit our Shrewsbury showroom. Here you can see how the spas work up-close with Geoff and the team on hand to answer any questions and demonstrate the capabilities of the Bullfrog range or Hot Tubs.
Who are Bullfrog Spas?
Bullfrog Spas are manufactured in North American with their factory based in Utah. Founded in 1996 by David Ludow, the JetPak concept that makes a Bullfrog spa unique was developed. The ethos was reducing plumbing within the spa, thus increasing pump efficiency while reducing the likelihood of leaks. Heating costs are also reduced as there is less pipework to radiate heat from and the complex pipework within the JetPak is contained within the wet chamber which is Fully Foam Insulated for maximum Heat Retention.
The flexibility of the JetPak design means you can have over 16 different massage options within your premium hot tub thus offering a 100% personalised hydrotherapy experience.
30 years after inception, Bullfrog Spas are an International Brand and Better Living Outdoors are proud to represent them in the UK.
What are the Benefits of Choosing a Bullfrog Spa?
There are many benefits of choosing a Bullfrog spa over a different brand as they offer a greater level of flexibility, control, and luxury. Furthermore, varying sizes and models mean you can choose the type of spa that suits your space and budget with flexible financing options to spread out the cost.
Below are some further benefits of Bullfrog spas:
- Built in the USA from High-Quality materials, a Bullfrog Spa will outlast many conventional & cheaper models.
- All Bullfrog Spas are constructed on a Precision Moulded ABS Enduraframe. There is no risk of Rot or Decay versus Steel or Wood construction. The Spa Base Pan is ABS plastic to ensure longevity and the modern Composite Spa Cabinet is both aesthetically pleasing and low maintenance.
- Full Foam insulation on all Bullfrog Spas ensures low running costs but the A, M and Stil Series models with JetPaks are lower again, as there is minimal plumbing within the cabinet area to lose heat.
- Gecko Control Systems in all Bullfrog spas provide intuitive user interfaces with reliable components, so much so that they come with a 5 year warranty as standard.
- Bullfrog Spas offer a more contemporary look than most hot tubs on the market. You have clean lines around the top edge of the spa, not cluttered by Divertor, Air & Waterfall controls which you’ll find on a traditional spa. These lines are accentuated by bespoke colours like Almond, Mist Grey, Solitude White.
- Seating layouts within a Bullfrog Spa also differ from many traditional hot tubs. The twin lounger A7D boosts 2 forward facing loungers allowing the spa to be more easily placed for a view. In the M8, the two loungers are side by side meaning a couple can sit side by side for a more romantic unwind.
- Bullfrog Spas offer an optional non-slip surface called SeaDek which can be fitted to the footwell and seat bases to provide more confident access & egress from the spa. This material is designed to contrast the main colour scheme coming in either light grey or beige.
- Water Quality is one of the most important parts of any spa. Bullfrog Spas offer Simplicity Water care which uses 10 times less Chlorine than salt system spas. Large Cartridge Filters with EOS Ozone oxidation ensure crystal clear bathing water.
- The JetPak Therapy System is the ultimate benefit found on A series, M series and Stil series spas. Your spa is fully customizable with access to 16 different massage options which can be moved to different seats within the spa. The JetPaks can be changed whilst the spa is full and additional JetPaks can added to the spa later in life, rejuvenating your Hot Tub.

Explore Bullfrog SpasWhat Are the Different Bullfrog Spa Models?
There are various Bullfrog spa models depending on the level of customisation, space, seating, and features you’re looking for. Below we’re exploring the different options available at Better Living Outdoors, allowing you to choose the one that’s most suitable for you.
X Series
Out of the Bullfrog range, the X Series is the entry range with a choice of seating configurations for added comfort. In contrast to some of the other ranges, it uses a traditional fixed jet system rather than the interchangeable JetPak Therapy System. These jets are flow adjustable so your massage can be customised and the X series range still features full foam insulation and Gecko control systems for lower running costs. The X Series offers a more affordable route into Bullfrog Spa ownership where quality, reliability and low running costs are still core values.
Best suited to:
People who want to experience Bullfrog quality at a lower price and don’t need fully customisable options.
A Series
Moving over to Bullfrog’s Luxury Class models, the A series offers plenty of choice in terms of size, seating, and massage options. Choose from the compact 3-person A5D, which features two loungers, through to larger 7 and 8-person spas which are great for bigger groups to enjoy. The A Series features the JetPak Therapy System so you can choose from the 16 different JetPak massage options and move them between compatible seats. In Choice Specification, A series spas offer a more budget friendly proposition but offer less JetPak locations and single colour cabinets. Moving to the Select Specification ensures maximum JetPak count, two tone cabinets, Premium Lighting & Water Features.
Best suited to:
Customers who want a premium, customisable hydrotherapy experience with different choices in terms of size and layout.
M Series
For a premium hydrotherapy experience, take a look at the Elite Class M Series spas. These models are typically larger, designed to provide lots of space for families and large groups. Models range from the 7-person M6 through to the spacious 10-person M9. Clean exterior lines are mirrored internally with different types of seating at varying heights to suit all bathers. We have the M8 offering loungers though the other models in the range offer leg massage from their seat positions. You have maximum JetPak seats within the M Series so all bathers can personalise their experience. Larger models such as the M8 and M9 provide additional lounging space, making the M Series great for people who want more room to relax.
Best suited to:
Customers who want more space to host bigger groups as well as premium features and customisable hydrotherapy options.
STIL Series
The STIL Series is Bullfrog’s Modern range, bringing together a more minimalist appearance with the personalised hydrotherapy of the JetPak Therapy System. The STIL5 is a compact 4-person option, while the larger STIL7 can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people and includes two loungers. Both models come with three JetPak seats so you can choose different massage experiences whilst still having a clean, modern design.
Best suited to:
Customers who want a modern design as well as hydrotherapy.
How Much Do Bullfrog Spas Cost?
The cost of a Bullfrog spa varies depending on the model, size, seating and features you choose. The X-series starts from just £7995 though to enjoy JetPak Therapy, £11495 would get you into the Bullfrog Spas® A5D 3 Person Hot Tub. This is ideal for couples as it features seating for 3 with two loungers & one chair.
There are various models in the Bullfrog range, all of which you can explore at Better Living Outdoors, allowing you to choose the right spa for your needs and lifestyle. For example we also have the Bullfrog Spas® M9 10 Person Hot Tub which accommodates up to 10 people making it an ideal choice if you enjoy socialising or hosting.
When choosing your spa, please remember you need to consider the whole life cost of your hot tub. A small initial outlay normally comes with lesser insulation, poorer quality component parts, shorter warranties and built in obsolescence. Bullfrog Spas offer low running costs with Better Insulation, high quality parts matched with longer warranties.

Bullfrog Spas FAQs
Not all Bullfrog Spas use the interchangeable JetPak Therapy System as the X Series uses a fixed jet system. However ranges including the A, M and STIL Series feature JetPaks that allow you to change the type of massage experience.
For families and larger groups, the M series offers some of the most spacious models. For example, the M9 can comfortably seat up to 10 people, while other M Series models have a mix of upright seating and loungers to stretch out.
Yes, Bullfrog Spas are energy efficient as their JetPak plumbing design uses less pipework than many conventional hot tubs. This means less heat is wasted as water travels around the spa. They also have high-quality Full Foam insulation which helps retain heat and reduce the amount of energy needed to keep the water temperature warm.
